Mancini says Man City are as good as Barcelona and Real Madrid

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini insists his side are every bit as good as the top sides in Europe, including Barcelona and Real Madrid, according to BBC Sport.

City are currently five points clear at the top of the Premier League table, and are unbeaten having won 11 of their first 12 games.

They are also on the verge of reaching the knock-out stages of the Champions League, and could do so on Tuesday with victory away to Napoli.

As a result, Mancini believes they are currently one of the best teams in the competition, commenting: “We started the season very well and this confidence is important for the team. I don’t think we are better than Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester United, but probably we are at the same level.”
