Meireles signed for the Blues on transfer deadline day this summer and angered many Liverpool fans with his exit, which happened at the end of the deadline. The Portuguese midfielder has been in good form for Chelsea since his move, but will not celebrate if he scores at Stamford Bridge. The 28 year old scored the winner for the Reds last time the two sides met in West London, but is looking towards the game from a professional approach and is eager to deliver three points for the Blues.
Meireles said: ‘If I score I will not celebrate out of respect to the Reds supporters. They were incredible towards me during my stay on Merseyside and I am also very grateful to Liverpool for giving me the chance to play in England.’
