Arsene Wenger faces stiff competition from Italian side Napoli for the signature of Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Patrick Herrmann, according to talkSPORT.
The 20 year old has impressed for the German side so far this season and has alerted the Arsenal scouting team, who have been to watch Herrmann play. The German under 21 international has scored two goals in his first ten appearances for the club this season. Arsenal have been tempted to make an offer of their own for the player and with a low valuation of around £3m, The Gunners could make the move in the January transfer window. Napoli are also interested in the 20 year old and could offer him Champions League football should they progress in their group.
Herrmann initally broke into the side in 2009 and made 15 appearances last season. He has been one of the stars, along with fellow Gunners target Marco Reus, that has helped Monchengladbach get off to a quick start.
