Phil Jones plans to overtake Man City by Christmas

Manchester United’s Phil Jones says their rivals Man City could yet feel the pressure as they continue to battle on all fronts.

The leaders are entering a busy period starting with a trip to Anfield on Sunday, followed by a Carling Cup clash at the Emirates just two days later and all this comes days after a recent away defeat against Napoli – which leaves their Champions League campaign in tatters.

With this in mind, the Utd defender says his team are not panicking: “City have done fantastically this season and I am not taking anything away from them. But they do have some tough games coming up.

“I don’t care how good you are, teams can be put under pressure. This is a difficult league to be in.” He continued. “It would be nice to reach top spot by Christmas. But it is not essential. Don’t be writing us off if we are not there by January.”
