Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Steven Pienaar says he has no regrets over joining the club instead of Chelsea, despite a lack of playing time in recent months, Goal.com
Pienaar is currently continuing to recover from a groin injury and has only started two games in the last eight months, but still believes he made the right choice in moving to White Hart Lane.
“It’s depressing,” said the South African international. “The team is playing well and getting results, which is satisfying. But if you’re not playing you don’t have a hand in helping the team and as a player you always want to be part of a team that’s doing well.
“I signed a four-and-a-half year contract,” he continued. “If it’s not working out this season I’ll just have to wait until next season.
“You just have to keep on going and don’t give up. I don’t regret turning down Chelsea at all. I turned Chelsea down for personal stuff.”
