Redknapp not looking to make any signings in January

Harry Redknapp has ruled out signing any players in the January transfer window and believes that his squad is currently good enough, The Sunday Mirror reports.

Spurs have been in scintillating form and currently sit third in the Premier League table. Rafael van der Vaart had hailed them as ‘maybe the best team in London’ and they are not doing much wrong to fulfil that title. Redknapp had been reportedly looking into the availability of Gary Cahill from Bolton Wanderers, but with this statement, that transfer looks to have subsided. Redknapp admits he had concerns defensively, but the return of William Gallas and Ledley King have put a stop on those fears.

The Spurs boss will only sign a player if a serious injury befalls one of his squad. ‘As it stands, I’m not looking to bring anyone into the club in January. To be honest, we have a very strong squad, one of the best in the Premier League, so I wouldn’t know where to bring in players that would improve us, as we are pretty strong all over the pitch. There is absolutely no point in going out and signing players if they can’t improve the team’, Redknapp said.
