Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has played down the chances of the club signing LA Galaxy’s David Beckham with the admission that the former England captain would struggle to hold down a starting place in the Spurs first team.
Beckham’s Galaxy contract expires next month, and he has also been linked with QPR and PSG of France. However, Redknapp told talkSPORT,
“Wherever he goes, he’s going to want to play, so it’s not going to be easy to say I can guarantee him a place in the team. I wouldn’t say it’s a definite no-no with Tottenham, but I think he’s going to want to play regularly, that’s the problem. I couldn’t sit and say he’ll play every game.”
