Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has spoken of the heart scare he had and the breathing problems that made him have surgery, The
Redknapp had surgery on Wednesday, which forced him to miss Spurs’ Europa League tie against Rubin Kazan on Thursday, and has made good progress in his recuperation. The Spurs boss could be back within the next two weeks and is eager to get back into action.
‘I have a running machine at home and run or jog for around half an hour several times a week to help stay fit. But this time I went on and had been running for no more than about two minutes when I felt pains in my chest. I had hardly got going when it went tight and I was struggling to breathe. As soon as that happens, you know the best thing to do is stop immediately, which I did’, Redknapp said.
The Spurs boss revealed that it was only routine surgery and he was only half-unconscious for the procedure. Redknapp is ready to get back to Tottenham and the game that he loves, despite the concerns of his family and friends.
