Scholes set for Man Utd role

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes is expected to be named the new reserve team manager following the departure of Warren Joyce, The Mirror reports.

Joyce has become Hull City manager following Nigel Pearson’s switch to Leicester City and has left the reserve team manager’s job open. Scholes is assistant to Joyce at United and is relatively new to coaching, but United are keen to promote Scholes to manager. Former United forward Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first job after retiring was as reserve team manager and he guided the them to the league title.

Solskjaer then took a job at Norwegian side Molde and recently took them to the league title.

The former United midfielder made 676 appearances since his debut in 1994 and is considered a legend within the English game.
