Sheffield Wednesday swoop to loan Blackpool defender Miguel Llera

League One promotion chasers Sheffield Wednesday have signed Blackpool defender Miguel Llera on loan until January.

The move follows yesterday’s capture of Newcastle right-back James Tavernier as manager Gary Megson looks to bolster his defensive options.

Llera was earlier today recalled from his loan spell at Brentford by the Seasiders but they have immediately chosen to loan him to the Owls, much to the disappointment of Bees boss Uwe Rosler who spoke to the club’s official website: “It is unfortunate that Blackpool have recalled Miguel as we would have liked to have kept him for the full duration of his loan spell.

“Recall agreements are standard in any loan contract and it is just one of those things, there is nothing we can do.

“We are grateful to Blackpool for allowing us to take Miguel on loan and we would like to thank them.We have been very happy with him and wish him all the best in his future career.”

It is unclear whether Rosler will act quickly to bring in a replacement before the loan window slams shut on Thursday but they are sure to miss the towering Spaniard who made a great impression in his 14 appearances for the club.
