Spurs’ Dawson undergoes successful achilles operation

Tottenham defender Michael Dawson has had an operation on his achilles tendon and will be out of action until next year, according to The Guardian.

Dawson picked up an injury in the 5-1 defeat to Manchester City in August, the last time he played for the first team, and was expected to be out for a couple of months.

However, when he returned to full training, he suffered a relapse during a jogging session, which led to him having to have the aforementioned treatment.

An official statement from Spurs said: “Michael Dawson has today undergone surgery to his right achilles tendon assist with his recovery.

“Medical staff are pleased with his progress and he will be reviewed by the surgeon in early December, at which time a date for a return to full training will be determined.”
