Tottenham Hotspur defender Michael Dawson could require surgery due to a recurrent Achilles tendon problem and may face several months on the sidelines, BBC
Dawson has not played since the 5-1 defeat to Manchester City at the end of August, and is due to visit a specialist next week to decide whether he needs the operation.
Spurs’ boss Harry Redknapp stated: “It could be a long-term problem for him. Michael started to run but didn’t feel good. He felt pain, had a scan, and now has to go the specialist to see why.
“Until he sees the specialist we don’t know if they want to operate on him, which we don’t want.”
Dawson, 27, had originally been expected to be out for two months, but could now miss even more of the season.
