Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge has praised the older members of the Blues squad and said they are the heart of the club, ESPN
The young England striker has finally got his chance of first-team football with the Blues after impressive performances on loan at Bolton last season. Sturridge has starred this season along with fellow youngsters Juan Mata and Ramires. However, the 22 year old has slammed those who have criticised the older members of the Blues squad such as John Terry, Ashley Cole and Frank Lampard.
Sturridge insisted that the older players are always ready to give their all for the club and should be treated with respect. ‘Ashley Cole, JT, Lamps, Didier – these are the players which keep the team going. They are the heart of the team. They have been here a lot longer than I have, or any of the younger guys coming through have’.
