Sturridge happy with team performance

Chelsea forward Daniel Sturridge believes that his current form is not important unless the team are performing and winning games, chelseafc.com reports.

Sturridge took his season tally to seven goals against Wolves on Saturday with a smartly taken finish. The 22 year old has impressed so far this season and his goalscoring form sees him top of the goalscoring charts at Stamford Bridge. Confidence is high with the Blues striker, but he is more happy with the way the team played than his own performance.

The 22 year old said: ‘I have been scoring goals and it is something I enjoy doing, but the most important thing was the team performance. When we perform as a team, we tend to win games. It wasn’t just my goal, JT’s goal was quality and Juan Mata’s was also quality’.

Sturridge also praised the performance of midfielders Juan Mata and Oriol Romeu. The Spaniards signed for the club in the summer and Sturridge believes both will become great players in their positions in the Premier League.
