Swindon manager Paolo Di Canio unsure on Montano stay

Swindon manager Paolo Di Canio is unsure if he will extend the loan of West Ham youngster Cristian Montano.

The 19-year-old’s initial one-month spell ends on the 13th November but Di Canio told BBC Wiltshire he is going to use that remaining time wisely to decide if Montano is to be part of his future plans: “I want to wait. I don’t know if he feels part of Swindon Town. He didn’t prove this to me in the past week.

“His body language proved to me that he didn’t want to stay. So I don’t know.”

Montano netted on his Robins debut against Accrington but has since failed to score. He enjoyed a much more prolific spell in League One with Notts County with four goals in 12 matches but is yet to recapture that form under the enigmatic Italian.

Unfortunately for the Columbian he will be unable to prove his worth tomorrow with Di Canio confirming he will not feature for the first time since his arrival when Swindon travel to Port Vale.
