Torres to ignore abuse from Liverpool fans

Chelsea striker Fernando Torres has told The Sun that he expects abuse from the travelling Liverpool fans when the two sides meet at Stamford Bridge on Sunday. Torres knows that there is bitterness following his £50m move from Anfield to Chelsea, but does not feel he warrants the ill feeling.

Chelsea’s record signing believes the Liverpool supporters have been misinformed by the club, and do not know his reasons for the move. “The Liverpool fans have only paid attention to what the club made them see and they don’t know the true story of my transfer to Chelsea. That’s why I don’t hold any grudges, they will always be special to me.”

Having only scored 5 times since his January move, it has been widely speculated that the pressure of the big transfer fee demanded by Liverpool has provided too much pressure for Torres to handle, something that Torres himself denies.
