Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Scott Parker is pleased that he has been able to become a key member of the England side, The
Parker had only won three caps and had not featured for the national side since 2006 prior to the start of this year.
However, he has played seven times for Fabio Capello’s side in 2011 and put in a fine performance in the shock 1-0 win over Spain last Saturday.
“I have come a long way in the last six months,” said Parker. “Football has chucked a lot of surprises at me in my career so there is no complacency.
“Whenever I put on an England shirt it is a proud moment for me. In one way, I have to pinch myself that I am going out to represent my county.”
