The 28-year-old Dutch midfielder picked up a hamstring injury in the second half of his country’s friendly against Switzerland on Friday, a match that ended 0-0.
He will miss the Netherland’s friendly against Germany later this week, and tweeted, “So very disappointed I won’t play Germany in Hamburg on Tuesday, hope to be back real quick.” He also added that his injury was only “a minor hamstring injury.”
Van der Vaart has been in excellent form for Spurs so far this season, scoring in five consecutive games before their last match against Fulham. He has six goals in total and two assists in his nine appearances in this Premier League campaign.
