Tottenham have stated midfielder Rafael van der Vaart is in the running for a return against Aston Villa, after sustaining a hamstring injury on international duty in Holland’s 0-0 draw with Switzerland.
Joe Jordan, speaking to several reporters after a training session on Thursday, said, “Rafa
“That’s good, but we have to get him from 75% to 100%; he’s got a chance, but it is important that there is no recurrence of the injury.” Of the other players returning from international duty, he added, “We have no major doubts.”
Van der Vaart, 28, has been in exceptional form for Spurs so far this season, with six goals and two assists. He also scored two goals the last time Spurs met Villa.
