The Serbian defender believes it is far too early to analyse the league table and knows that his side will be in title contention when the crunch time comes around. Vidic was absent from the 6-1 mauling City inflicted to United at Old Trafford, but his return since that game has coincided in three 1-0 victories for United in the league. Vidic is the cornerstone of the United defence and fans at Old Trafford are delighted with his return.
United face Newcastle this weekend and Vidic believes his side’s quality can help them keep chasing Manchester City: ‘When you look at the league table, we’d obviously prefer to be closer. But nobody in the team is panicking. There are tough games for everybody ahead and there’s more than half the season left to play. We have a lot of talent, experience and desire in the squad – certainly enough to win the league’, the United captain said.
