Chelsea boss Andre Villas Boas has said that qualification for the knockout stages of the Champions League is still in their own hands, despite conceding a last gasp goal to crash to a 2-1 defeat in Leverkusen last night, reports The
“Not good football was played by any of the teams, which was in the end a pity but that’s not what matters today. What matters is that Leverkusen takes three important points which will change the nature of the group and we go to our last game against Valencia to decide our qualification,” said the Portuguese manager.
Due to the Champions League rules, Chelsea will need to beat Spanish side Valencia, or battle out a goalless draw to make it through to the next round. The Blues are in disappointing form however, with last nights defeat being their fourth in the last seven games.
