Villas-Boas backs anti-racism and Sepp Blatter

Andre Villas-Boas has taken the steps to make it known that he sympathises with the highly unpopular FIFA President Sepp Blatter.

Blatter has been on the end of torrents of criticism again this week by suggesting racism was not that prevalent in football, and that it could be resolved by a handshake.

Villas-Boas does not agree with this view but does however think that before asking for his resignation, his record as President should be considered and he also says Blatter should be recognised for apologising. “Blatter made his apologies today [on Friday] and end of story. When a person assumes he has made a mistake, it’s for all of us to accept a mistake was made. It’s good that person is able to come out and retract the words that he said.”

The Portuguese boss was also quick to praise the anti-racism campaigns in England for its awareness and media attention.
