Walcott behind van Persie goalscoring form

Theo Walcott has been hailed as the key to Arsenal striker Robin Van Persie’s terrific form so far this season, The Mirror reports.

Van Persie has 29 goals in 28 Premier League games so far this calendar year and the Dutchman himself has claimed the key to his success is the strength of the England international’s play. Critics have called Walcott’s delivery and final ball poor, but the Arsenal captain has hailed the importance of Walcott in assisting the Dutchman.

‘After every single goal, people ask me ‘Who gave the assist?’ I just say, ‘Who do you think?’ We have that connection, I know what he is going to do, which is very important. It’s vital to have a player around me, as a striker, who knows where I move, how I move, do I want the ball into feet, do I want it behind. He knows where to find me’, Van Persie said.

Walcott set up Van Persie’s 100th goal for Arsenal against Bolton in September and the Dutchman’s Gunners goals have been released on DVD.
