The Ivorian has been in sensational form since he made the summer switch from French champions Lille to Arsenal. Gervinho has provided five assists so far this season and has teamed up well with Theo Walcott and Robin Van Persie to create a dangerous Arsenal attacking line. Wenger is pleased with the way Gervinho has moulded himself into a team player, but believes that he has to work on his finishing. The Ivorian squandered a glorious one-on-one chance last weekend at Norwich and midweek against Borussia Dortmund.
The Arsenal boss said: ‘I think he is one of the best signings in the league so far. Gervinho is a fantastic provider, but he also creates space for the other players because he always goes behind defenders. The problem with Gervinho is that he is the opposite of Robin Van Persie. He is desperate for a goal and it’s difficult once you are in that situation’.
