Youngster Robinson signs new Liverpool contract

Young Liverpool defender Jack Robinson is determined to repay the faith shown by the club after penning a new long-term contract, liverpoolfc.tv reports.

The 18-year-old has made five first team appearances in his Reds career and Robinson has been rewarded for the impressive progress he has made. Robinson became the youngest ever Liverpool player when he came on against Hull City on the final day of the 2009-10 season.

Robinson is ecstatic at the news of a new deal and hopes he can continue to progress and put in the hard yards to try and pip Jose Enrique to the starting left back role at Anfield.

I’m delighted. I was going for my lunch and I saw Damien Comolli on my way through. He pulled me to one side and said the club wanted to offer me a new contract.

There was no doubt in my mind. I was just so excited the club were offering me a contract. I’ve just got to keep working hard in training. I’ve got to keep improving and showing people what I’m about,” Robinson said.
