Charlie Adam recognises he has now developed as one of Kenny Dalglish’s most important players and has nowhere to hide, Sky
Liverpool ended a season long pursuit by signing the former Blackpool midfielder in the summer and Adam has become a regular in the Reds lineup. Responsibility is now even heavier on the Scotland international after injuries to midfielders Lucas Leiva and Steven Gerrard leave Adam as the most senior central midfielder available. The Reds travel to Aston Villa on Sunday and are looking to keep pace with the frontrunners.
Adam understands that they have lost two key players in Lucas and Gerrard, but the lads that come in have to take responsibility and be counted for. Adam insists that the whole team have to take credit for what they do, if the Reds want to be successful this season.
‘The two players we’ve lost is a big loss for us – one is the captain and one is an international for Brazil. It’s been difficult, but the lads have come in and done a great job. Hopefully, we can continue that and it will be nice to see them back in the first team. We go into every game with confidence. No matter who we’ve played this year, we’ve gone into the game with confidence’, the Scottish international said.
