Agent reveals Vargas Chelsea possibilities

Chelsea have made no formal offer for Chilean forward Eduardo Vargas, according to The Daily Mail.

Vargas has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in January and has attracted attention from top European sides such as Arsenal and AC Milan. Chelsea have agreed terms to allow Nicolas Anelka to move to China and will now dip into the transfer market to bring in a forward replacement.

The 22 year old Universidad de Chile star has been dubbed the ‘new Alexis Sanchez’ and his agent, Mark Griffiths, has acknowledged the interest from all European sides. However, no official offer has been made for Vargas. Universidad de Chile have valued the player at £12m and the Blues will be eager to snap up Vargas in January, before the price increases. Griffiths also ramped up interest by claiming that Vargas is a much better player than Sanchez.

Griffiths said: ‘He’s definitely a player that is attracting a lot of interest. However, we have not received an official offer from London. Maybe they will bid in the future, but to date, there is nothing. That is the same for all European teams. Vargas as the next Sanchez? Comparisons have been made, but I think in some ways, he is even better because he scores more’.
