Andre Santos out of Arsenal clash with Everton

Arsenal left-back Andre Santos has been ruled out of the Gunners’ next match against Everton on Saturday after he picked up an ankle injury in the side’s Champions League clash with Olympiakos.

The Brazilian full-back was forced off after five minutes of the second-half during Arsenals 3-1 defeat to the Greek side.

BBC Sport has reported that the £6m summer signing from Fenerbahce may be out for several weeks which will be worrying for manager Arsene Wenger who is already without Kieran Gibbs, Carl Jenkinson and Bacary Sagna due to injury.

This most recent hiccup could force the Frenchman to utilise Belgian centre-back Thomas Vermaelen as a left-back in place of the 28-year-old against the Toffees this weekend.
