Arsenal forward Andrei Arshavin is expected to make a return to Russia either in January or in the summer, according to The Daily Mirror.
The Russian has struggled for form at the Emirates Stadium and has earned critics within the Arsenal support. Arshavin has been poor so far this season, but believes that he deserves more playing time in North London. The 30 year old cost Arsenal £12m back in 2008 and the club they brought him from are now interested in bringing Arshavin back home.
Zenit St. Petersburg are interested in the Arsenal striker, but will have to wait for the Gunners to sign a replacement. Arsene Wenger is interested in Cologne striker Lukas Podolski and if the Frenchman can secure a deal, then Arshavin will be shown the exit door. The Russian side have publicly declared their interest, but insist no contact has been made with Arsenal over a move.
