Arteta confident of Arsenal title challenge

Mikel Arteta believes that the Arsenal midfield have begun to find just the right balance as they look to push for the title, Arsenal.com reports.

The Spaniard helped Arsenal to another win over his former side Everton and Arteta has impressed since he made the summer switch from Goodison Park. Arsenal have seen Arteta feature in every Premier League fixture available since he made the deadline day move and boss Arsene Wenger has been delighted with Arteta’s progress.

Arteta himself is happy with what has happened so far and is pleased he has been able to score five goals already this season for both Arsenal and Everton. The Spaniard joked that he used to be quite good at scoring goals, but is happy to sit more defensively to accommodate the attacking talents of Theo Walcott, Gervinho and the in-form Robin Van Persie.

‘It depends on how the game is going and on our opponents. I have scored five goals this season already, if you count my two for Everton in August, so I don’t think things are going badly. We need to make sure people other than Robin are scoring for us, after all’, Arteta said.
