Manchester City stars Micah Richards and Mario Balotelli had to be dragged apart in training yesterday, The
The two players clashed in a training game ahead of City’s big fixture against Arsenal on Sunday. Richards and Balotelli’s argument reportedly stemmed from a misplaced pass and the normally good friends exchanged insults. Those insults turned fiery and a number of players, including James Milner and Yaya Toure, had to intervene along with City boss Roberto Mancini.
City stressed that this was just the kind of flare-up that regularly occurs at Premier League training sessions. The club will not take any action against either player and Richards and Balotelli resolved their differences after training. The England international posted on his Twitter to explain the situation.
Richards said: ‘Me and Mario are all good! These things happen in training and we shook hands after. It shows passion!’
Both players are expected to be involved in the game against Arsenal, which City will look to win after their first loss of the season against Chelsea on Monday night.
