Bellamy delighted with Liverpool season so far

Craig Bellamy has spoken of his delight at Liverpool’s start to the season and believes they will have a fantastic second half, liverpoolfc.tv reports.

Bellamy scored the first from close range and supplied the cross for Martin Skrtel to head home Liverpool’s second in their 2-0 win over Aston Villa on Sunday. The Welshman signed for the Reds this summer for his second spell after an ill-fated season in 2007/2008. When Bellamy has been brought into the side by Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish, he has impressed and shown quality.

The outspoken forward believes the Reds squad are fantastic footballers and they have the capabilities to perform well this season. Liverpool face a trip to Wigan on Wednesday night, where they will look for another win and another clean sheet to keep their record of best defence in the Premier League.

‘We’re a good team, there are no doubts about that. We are part of an incredible football club. When you go out onto the field, it’s not just 11 players – it’s 22/23 players. To represent this club is a privilege, but you do have to carry a certain responsibility and style of play. Fortunately we do have a lot of Liverpool players here who do deserve to play at this club’, Bellamy said.
