Blackburn Rovers, the Premier League’s bottom side, take on newly promoted Swansea City at Ewood Park desperate for three points to aid their survival hopes.
Rovers boss Steve Kean is without midfielder Steven Nzonzi, as he serves the second of a three match ban. Kean does see the return of defensive trio Christopher Samba, Martin Olsson and Michel Salgado following injury. Rovers were beaten 3-1 by Stoke City away from home last weekend and are in dire need of three points to lift the doom and gloom surrounding Ewood Park.
Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers saw his side pick up a point at home to Aston Villa last weekend and they have performed admirably in their first season of Premier League football. Striker Danny Graham suffered an Achilles injury in that game and he is not back in time to face Villa. Angel Rangel is also out for a month with ankle ligament damage, so Jazz Richards is expected to deputise at right back.
Both sides will be looking for the victory, but Swansea will be happy to play their possession football and take a point from Ewood Park. There should be more protests from Rovers fans at the game too.
