Carroll to get Liverpool chance over Christmas

Kenny Dalglish has said record signing Andy Carroll will get the chance to prove his worth over Christmas, because he believes the former Newcastle man will show there is no need for the club to bring in another striker in the January transfer window.

Dalglish is quoted in the Mirror as saying: “Everybody’s got to be prepared and ready to play. They will all expect to play some part in some of the games, and Andy Carroll is no different.” Following Liverpool’s League Cup successes when the team has been slightly experimental, Dalglish has enormous faith in his all of his squad to be able to compete.

Having spent £35million on Carroll, the club, and Dalglish, will be keen to see a return on that investment. “Everybody will get an opportunity, and Andy like every one of them is ready to step in and play. There is no individual we are not comfortable with putting in.”
