Chamakh hints at summer exit from Arsenal

Marouane Chamakh has hinted at a move away from the Emirates Stadium in the January transfer window, according to ESPN.

The Arsenal striker is out-of-favour at the North London club and is being kept out of the side by in-form Robin Van Persie, who has scored 33 goals in 2011. Chamakh joined the club in 2010 and despite a bright start to life at Arsenal, his season tailed off disappointingly. The Moroccan has only made one start in the Premier League so far this season and is becoming frustrated with his lack of opportunities.

Chamakh has scored once in 12 appearances so far this season and has revealed that he will make his decision in the summer over his Arsenal future. If Chamakh is to move back to France, he will only move to Bordeaux ending speculation of a switch to wealthy Paris Saint Germain.

Chamakh said: ‘I am 27 and I need to play. I cannot stay like this forever. I won’t leave in January but I will take an important decision in June. I was surprised by the offers I got last summer, but my priority was to stay at Arsenal.’
