Cristiano Ronaldo: ‘The Spanish league is the best in the world’


Cristiano Ronaldo believes ‘the Spanish league is the best in the world’ and says he has no ‘immediate plans for a return to England’.

Speaking at the Globe Soccer Awards 2011 in Dubai, where he was voted ‘Footballer of the Year’ and ‘Greatest Media Attraction’, the Real Madrid striker said: “I am not thinking about the future because I am enjoying myself at the moment. In Manchester I learned to play and above all I learned tactical discipline, but the Spanish league is the best in the world since it is based on players’ skills and techniques. I will not leave Real Madrid. I want to carry on enjoying it here.”

The 26-year-old has scored an incredible 111 goals in 112 games in his time at the Santiago Bernab
