Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish believes his squad are coping well without the experienced duo of Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher, The
Gerrard has only made five appearances this season after recovering from a groin operation in March. The Liverpool captain has suffered another setback after picking up an infected ankle in October, but is back in training. Carragher has found himself on the bench after injury and is facing a tough battle to displace any of the Reds back four, who have the best defence in the league.
Dalglish knows that Gerrard and Carragher are undoubtedly icons with Liverpool fans, but believes that even when they return, there is no guarantees of starting berths. The Liverpool boss has praised the players who have been playing so far this season also.
‘If Jamie and Stevie are fit, we are even stronger, but the lads have done very well. In someone else’s eyes, some people may have made a greater contribution than others, but they all have a part to play and we look forward to everyone being fit and then we have a problem picking the team’, Dalglish said.
