Dalglish suggests agenda against Bellamy

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish believes there is a hidden agenda against striker Craig Bellamy this season, The Telegraph<7i> reports.

The Reds forward has been booked in his last four games and Dalglish has stated that he didn’t think any of them were deserved of a yellow card. Bellamy and Dalglish face former side Blackburn Rovers at Anfield and if the 32 year old picks up a booking, he faces suspension. The Liverpool manager has called for any agenda to subside and allow Bellamy, who has been in good form, to continue playing as the Reds look to progress up the table.

Dalglish said: ‘He has been booked four times and he hasn’t deserved any of them. You would hate to believe there is an agenda against him from anyone. You would like to think if you had been unlucky four times, you would not unlucky for a fifth. Mind you, you might have said that after the first two.’

The Liverpool boss has stated some of the reasons for Bellamy’s bookings, which include an altercation with Fulham forward Clint Dempsey and QPR midfielder Joey Barton. Dalglish believes he has not seen anything worthy of a yellow card in Bellamy’s incidents and has asked for clarity by the referees to identify situations. Dalglish, however, will not be taming the Welshman’s wild side and has stated that Bellamy is experienced enough to know what to do.
