Patrice Evra believes that the spirit in the Manchester United dressing room will win them the title at the end of the season, The
The French defender captained United to a 5-0 win over Wigan on Boxing Day and that result saw them draw level with Manchester City at the top of the table. Evra was part of the United side that lost 6-1 at Old Trafford to City on October 23rd. Since that fixture, United have picked up 25 points out of of 27, despite a large amount of injuries that saw them face Wigan without 11 first team players available.
Evra believes that the spirit within the club is why he is proud to be a Manchester United player. Sir Alex Ferguson played Michael Carrick at centre half and Antonio Valencia at right back against Wigan, but Evra insists that the United players will play anywhere Ferguson asks them to.
‘I’ve said this from the beginning – in six years playing here – the United spirit is always there. No other team have got that spirit. This is United. This is why I’m so proud to play here. This is the United spirit. You can play everywhere for the team. If you want to win, you have to accept it. Only because United play like a team is this possible. The team is the star, not only one player’, Evra said.
