Liverpool’s Brazilian full back Fabio Aurelio believes that the team losing his compatriot Lucas Leiva to injury for the rest of the season is a massive blow for the remainder of the campaign. Having injured his in the 2-1 League victory over Chelsea, the midfielder has been ruled out of contention until next season.
Aurelio spoke to the Official Club Website and said: “He is very unfortunate to have suffered the injury because he was in such a good moment. It took him a lot of time and hard work to get to the level he was at – both in terms of confidence and fitness.”
The former Valencia man went onto to talk of how Lucas’ recent performances had been integral to the team: “This season he started very well and was helping us a lot. We will miss him. Every game I watched I would see Lucas producing amazing performances.”
