Ferguson pleased with United form

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is hoping for his side to keep their current momentum as they head into the New Year, manutd.com reports.

United have won eight from their last nine games in the league and have recovered from the 6-1 thrashing they received at Old Trafford against Manchester City. Ferguson’s side have scored 16 goals in their last four games and will look to add to that total against Blackburn. The New Year’s Eve fixture comes on the 70th birthday of Sir Alex Ferguson and United’s player s will be happy to continue their good form for their manager.

Ferguson expects his side to keep their form to ward off the challenges from Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea below them. The United boss praised Spurs for their performances and claimed they play the best football in the country at the moment.

The United boss said: ‘We have plenty of options in attack and I’m pleased with the form. Hopefully, we can keep the momentum going. The form is good and the players are enjoying themselves too. It’s only the end of December. We surrendered a 12 point lead to Arsenal some years ago and won the title despite being 12 points behind Newcastle.’
