Frimpong eyes first-team Arsenal place

Emmanuel Frimpong has more self-belief in his performances after his recent stint in the Arsenal first-team, arsenal.com reports.

The 19 year old midfielder admitted that he did not feel ready for the Premier League earlier this year, but Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has placed faith in Frimpong. That faith has helped the Ghanaian and he has rewarded Wenger with a string of powerful performances. Frimpong now has 11 first team appearances on his record. Arsenal visit the DW Stadium this weekend and Frimpong is happy with the way things have been going, but is still hungry for more first-team opportunities.

Frimpong started the midweek Carling Cup loss to Arsenal, but is not expected to keep his place against Wigan. ‘I’ve been working hard on the training ground to get over that kind of thing and now I believe in myself a bit more. For every player to show what he can do, he has to be given the opportunity on the pitch and I’ve had more chances this year. Hopefully I’ll get more games under my belt before the season ends’.
