Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong is on the verge of completing a loan deal to Premier League side Wolves, according to The
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is a huge admirer of the 19 year old and is keen to further his development by sending him out on loan to a Premier League side, where he can get regular football. Frimpong broke into the Arsenal first team at the start of the season, when the Gunners suffered from injury worries, but has not featured regularly for a while and is down the pecking order in central midfield.
The Ghanaian is eager to stay at Arsenal and fight for his place, but a loan move away to Wolves or another admirer will improve his play. Wenger is expected to talk with Frimpong this week over the prospect of a switch. Wolves face strong competition from Swansea and Norwich for Frimpong’s signature.
Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has expressed a keen interest in the combative midfielder and will look to bring Frimpong in January. The 19 year old did not feature in the squad for Arsenal’s 4-0 win at Wigan this weekend, but is not available to be sold. The only move will be a loan switch.
