Gomes wants January exit from Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes has confirmed his desire to exit the club in January due to a lack of first team action, according to The People.

Gomes had been first choice between the posts for Spurs up until this season after joining from PSV Eindhoven in 2008.

However, he has not made a single appearance for the club this season, and now says he wants to move on in order to improve his chances of featuring for his national side, Brazil.

“I need to think about a new club because I want to play for Brazil again,” said the 30-year-old. “To do that I need regular games and at Tottenham that is not possible.

“I would like to stay in the Premier League,” he added. “My kids and wife love it here in England and I think I can earn other teams points in the same way I have for Tottenham.”
