Gotze prefers Spain move despite Arsenal interest

Arsenal target Mario Gotze has revealed that his dream move would be to Spanish and European champions Barcelona, talkSPORT reports.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is eager to sign the Borussia Dortmund midfielder and was reportedly weighing up a staggering £30m bid in January. Gotze will not make any switches in the January transfer window as Dortmund look to capture back-to-back Bundesliga titles. Dortmund’s hold on the German international could soften in the summer, as Gotze looks to move to a top European side and win major trophies.

A whole host of European sides are monitoring the 19 year old and Arsenal had expected to be in with a chance of signing Gotze. Those hopes have been crushed after the young midfielder, who is considered one of the best young talents in world football, said he would love to move to Spain instead of the Premier League.

Gotze said: ‘It would be a dream to play for Barcelona. I’d prefer to play in Spain than in the Premier League. I do not know how serious and concrete these requests are, but I am not busy with the possibility of moving. But of course, such offers flatter me’.
