Koscielny happy to play at right-back

Laurent Koscielny has spoken about how he has no problems at playing right-back for Arsenal whilst the Gunners suffer defensive nightmares, The Daily Mail reports.

Arsene Wenger is without a recognised full-back on the right or the left side of defence. The Gunners had hoped left-back Kieran Gibbs would be fit for their game against Aston Villa tonight, but another injury setback has forced him to again play four central defenders across the back. Bacary Sagna, Carl Jenkinson and Andre Santos are also on the injury list with Gibbs, as well as central defender Laurent Koscielny.

Koscielny has filled in at right back well so far this season and insists he is ready to play there when needed. The French defender, signed from Lorient last summer, has joked that his friends have likened him to Cafu, the Brazilian right-back who won two World Cups.

‘My mates tease me calling me the White Cafu. It’s a position I knew as I started as a professional in France at left full-back. Obviously, it is not my favourite position, but I am happy to help the team and do my best there’, Koscielny said.
