Levante rocked by Asier del Horno injury blow

Levante have been rocked by the news that Asier del Horno has been ruled out for between six and eight weeks with a calf injury.

The 30-year-old underwent tests on Monday to reveal the extent of the damage and a statement on the club’s official website read: “The Levante medical team have confirmed the worst predictions and Asier del Horno will be out of action for between six and eight weeks with a micro tear in the soleus of his left leg.”

The former Athletic Bilbao, Chelsea and Valencia defender was injured in the second half of the 5-0 defeat by Barcelona at the weekend and left the pitch after 75 minutes in obvious pain. Del Horno has already missed three weeks of the season with a similar injury and only returned to Juan Ignacio Mart
