Liverpool complete Ibe signing

Liverpool have landed the signing of young Wycombe Wanderers starlet Jordan Ibe, Sky Sports reports.

The 16 year old has seen interest from a number of Premier League sides land at his feet, but has chosen to sign for the Reds. Ibe burst on to the scene when he became Wycombe’s youngest ever goalscorer against Sheffield Wednesday in October. Ibe was only 15 then and showed some remarkable talent to score a wonderful goal. Liverpool have shown in recent months they are eager to sign the best of British young talent and have backed that up with the signing of Ibe.

Wycombe boss Gary Waddock has admitted they could not stand in the way of Ibe making a move to Anfield and has tipped him for a big future.

Waddock said: ‘It’s a fantastic move for him (Ibe). He’s a phenomenal talent which is why we gave him a chance to show what he can do at first-team level. Obviously we wanted to keep him, but we didn’t want to stand in the way of an opportunity he deserves. I have no doubt in my mind that he will go on to become a big star and I will be keeping a close eye on his progress. I would like to wish him and his family all the best for the future’.
