Liverpool enter race for Argentine star

Liverpool have joined Manchester United and Chelsea in their interest in young River Plate striker Lucas Ocampos. The Argentine outfit have however declared that any potential bidder will have to stump up £14million to purchase the player labelled as the ‘New Ronaldo’.

According to The Metro Liverpool may be favourites to sign Ocampos as they have links in South America they can exploit following the summer signing of Uruguayan defender Sebastian Coates. However Chelsea are apparently lining up a bid for the 6ft 2in forward, so any transfer movement will have to be one step ahead of their rivals.

Ocampos has scored four goals in his 16 matches this season and at 17 years of age it is little surprise that he has been attracting the interest of Premier League clubs for months now, even with the substantial valuation that has been set by River Plate for his services.
