Liverpool target Spurs midfielder Sandro

Tottenham midfielder Sandro is being sought after by Liverpool as a replacement for injured midfielder Lucas Leiva, according to Metro.

Lucas is out until the end of the season with a knee injury and Reds boss Kenny Dalglish is looking to strengthen his midfield. Sandro is frustrated by a lack of playing time at White Hart Lane and could make the switch to Merseyside. Spurs are keen to keep the Brazilian as cover for England international Scott Parker.

The 22 year old cost Spurs £8m in 2010 and has never nailed down a regular spot in Harry Redknapp’s side. Dalglish is pondering a move for the Brazilian and would have to pay the same, if not more, than what Spurs paid. Sandro’s agent Luiz Paulo Chignall has said that a whole host of clubs have contacted him for information, but have made no official bid.

Chignall said: ‘In football, you can never rule anything out, though, with it possible that negotiations will see all parties reach an agreement. Many clubs have contacted me for information on his situation, but there has been no official proposal. He’s a Tottenham player and any possible negotations must pass through the club’.
